The name “Golden sands” comes from an old legend: Pirates dig in huge golden treasure in the seaside north from Varna.The land took revenge on the bandits and transformed the gold into wonderful sand.

The resort’s beach strip is 3,5 km. long and up to 100 m wide. Golden Sands is a modern and esteemed Bulgarian summer resort, located at a distance of only 17 km (some 10 miles) from the largest city on the Black Sea coast – Varna. The international airport of Varna (recently renovated and extended) is 25 km (ca. 17 miles) from the resort.
